Physicians and Licensed Clinicians may initiate an involuntary Baker Act admission to Manatee Glens by directly observing behaviors that indicate that a person with a mental illness may be a danger to self or others.

Please call Manatee Glens Hospital at 941-782-4617 for further instructions and to relay patient information necessary to care.

After initiating a Baker Act, notify the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office to request safe transport to Manatee Glens Hospital at 2020 26th Avenue East in Bradenton where the patient may be evaluated and treated for up to 72 hours.

If our psychiatrists feel a longer involuntary stay is necessary, they will petition the court for an extended stay.
