CLINICAL POSITIONS

Generally Requires a Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field.

Outpatient Mental Health/Substance Abuse Programs 

#330 (20 hrs) Family Safety Intervention Specialist: Provides direct outreach, intervention, screening, assessment, referral, and intensive case management services to children and families or primary caregivers in the home or on site at The Safe Children Coalition, or other agreed upon community sites in Manatee County.  Services provided are in an effort to expedite substance abuse assessments and treatment referrals when appropriate to impede the progression of substance abuse and dependency and to monitor treatment services to insure effective service delivery.  This is accomplished through intervention with families, screening for TANF ADM eligibility treatment services.  The Intervention Specialist will coordinate substance abuse treatment service in accordance with protective service case plans, offer supportive counseling and provide information regarding the client’s progress to case managers in case reviews and in court hearing. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related human services field; one year’s experience in human services field, one year’s experience in human services.  Substance abuse experience; knowledge of community resources preferred.

#336 Adoption Preservation Therapist (32 hrs): Works specifically with children in adoptive placements, with the primary goal of preserving the adoption. Provides screening, assessment, and treatment (including individual, group, and family therapy) to a specialized population of children ages 0-18. Requires Master’s degree in a social services related area. Must have therapeutic experience working with children, adolescents and families, and knowledge of issues related to adoption, attachment, and family systems.  Needs to work well independently.  Requires flexibility to accommodate school/parent work schedules, and will include a combination of outpatient and in-home/ on-site therapy.

#403 Counselor – Drug Court (40 hrs): Provides individual and group substance abuse counseling in an outpatient Treatment Court setting. Must be able to provide written documentation concerning progress of client caseload as well as communicate collaboratively as a part of the Manatee County Drug Court Team. Requires the ability to develop supportive relationships with persons with substance abuse issues. Must also possess knowledge of addiction and recovery including the ability to view addiction from a criminal justice perspective. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in human services field. Requires a valid Florida Driver’s License with a safe driving record. Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule to include early morning, evenings and occasional weekends. Position is located at the Manatee County Judicial Center. 

 

Intensive Outpatient Treatment Team

Provide community based care to adults with severe and persistent mental health and/or substance abuse disorders.

Manatee Glens Walk-In-Center

Provide crisis intervention, immediate assessment, referral and short term counseling to those in need of mental health and/or substance abuse services.

Children’s Community Action Treatment Team (CAT)
Provide comprehensive community-based services to children and youth ages 5-18and their families who have been identified with intensive mental health and substanceabuse diagnosis.

Florida Assertive Community Treatment Team (FACT)

Provide comprehensive community treatment, rehabilitation and support services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.

#723 Counselor (40 hrs): Provide services to clients in the community with severe and persistent mental illness. Requires Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work or related field, previous experience working with those with severe and persistent mental illness preferred.  Valid FL driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.  Energetic self-motivated professional dedicated to providing quality services in the community in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals.  Registered Intern a plus.  May include some evenings and weekends as well as rotating on call hours.

Inpatient Mental Health/Substance Abuse Programs

 

#624 Care Manager – Access Center (24 hrs):  Provides screening, assessment, and referral services for both adult and youth clients. Requires Bachelor’s degree in a social services related field and excellent communication, customer service, de-escalation and computer skills and knowledge of mental health and addictions services. Position hours are 8am-8pm Sat & Sun. 

Registered Nurse: Assesses needed nursing care; provides direct nursing care services to clients/patients under supervision of a charge nurse or physician; is able to assume charge nurse position. Graduate of an approved school or college of nursing; current Florida licensure as a registered professional nurse; 3 years nursing experience, at least 1 of which is in a mental health setting. 

 

*Manatee Glens is currently hiring nursing staff on an associate or “as needed” basis. Regular positions are filled from the internal pool of associate and regular employees.

 

Behavioral Health Technician:  Provide assistance, supervision and coordination of therapeutic activities related to the daily living skills of clients.  Requires High School diploma or equivalent with one year experience in a mental health setting (college courses may be substituted for experience).

 

*Manatee Glens is currently hiring technicians on a PRN or “as needed” basis. All regular positions are filled from the internal pool of PRN and regular employees.

       

Child Welfare Positions

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology,

or closely related field.

 

#209, #707 Family Care Coordinator (40 hrs): Provide case management services for children ages 6-23 in Child Welfare. Requires Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or related degree and one year’s child welfare case management experience is preferred. Also requires valid FL driver’s license and safe driving record.
